COMBAT IN DRAGONWYNDE

In DragonWynde, we fight under the combat rules of Dagorhir Battle Games.
You can find a copy of their Manual of Arms on the Dagorhir site.

We fight with boffer weapons (foam and pvc or fibreglass cores) of different types, such as swords,
javelins, shields, flails, polearms and bows and arrows. Construction rules are in the Dagorhir
Manual of Arms as well.

There are fight practices, so that you can be properly trained to fight, especially for the inter-regional
Dagorhir events such as Badon Hill & Ragnarok.

Armor is not required, but it will help add to the realism.

TOURNAMENTS

There are several types of tournaments in DragonWynde that you'll be able to participate in.

"Knight's Tale"
Great Sword
Tournament
The combatants each have a turn at attacking with ten blows, and must then
defend from ten blows. Each successful hit is is a point. The fighter with the
most points wins the match. After all combatants have faced each other, the
winner of the most matches is the Tourney Champion.
PLEASE NOTE: IN THIS TOURNEY, HELMS ARE REQUIRED.
Bear Pit
Tournament
The participants face off against each other in a line. The winner
of each match faces the next person on line, the loser goes to
the end of the line. This is a timed tournament, with the person
scoring the most "kills" in the alotted time recognized as the
victor.
Ranking
Tournament
Used to determine the ranking of the Kingdom's Fighters. Each
victory is a point towards this rank. During this tournament , (and
some others) should you "Give Chivalry" (see above) to your foe,
you will receive a Chivalry Point. This counts towards the Rank-
ing as well, but moreso - it will make you stand out to those on
the lookout for prospective Knights.
Note: Any Kingdom Tourney may be counted as the month's Ranking Tourney.
"Crown"
Tournament
This may be a Tourney where a Shire or County "Crown" and
deed are awarded.
"Favor"
Tournament
This is a Tourney where a Favor is awarded that may be worn by
the victor. It can be from any Noble to bestow. The rules
for these vary from Favor to Favor.
"Champion" Tournament This is a Tourney to determine a Champion to represent a Royal
or Realm in singles Combat. A Favor is awarded to the Victor.
The King's Champion and Queen's Champion stand with them
in Court, acting as their personal guards.
